Tuesday 9/23- Mount Desert Island & Acadia Natioanl Park
Today was a beautiful 105 mile trip around Mt Desert Island & Acadia. We started out heading counterclockwise around the western side of the island making our way up the eastern side to Bar Harbor and then on to Acadia. The views were spectacular, finally seeing what I had envisioned this part of Maine to be; rocky cliffs and fishing villages. The day started out much sunnier than we had expected but by the time we were heading up Cadillac Mtn the skies were getting grayer and our day ended getting sprinkled on.
Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse- I discovered that every lighthouse has it's own color signal somewhat like the morse code so that ships can identify where they are.Southwest Harbor
Thunder hole - the waves come crashing in sometimes reaching heights of 40 ft and it does sound like thunder.
